12-Step
Program
A 12-step program is a plan of action designed to treat
alcoholism and drug dependency based on the 12-step
program taken from the basic text of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Treatment Referral uses a 12-step program because it
has a proven track record and works well with our commitment
to long-term sobriety for our clients. An effective
12 step program will take you through each step, in
order, and as quickly as possible to effectively combat
the progression of the disease of alcoholism and addiction.
Treatment Referral offers a wide variety of treatment
options including day treatment, group and individual
counseling sessions as well as activity based substance
abuse treatment. Throughout this process we always emphasize
the 12-step program because it is so effective for our
clients.
Many treatment facilities only focus on the first couple
of steps in the 12-step program. Treatment Referral
believes that the program is effective when done as
a whole and takes more time than the usual rehab allows.
Too many of these treatment centers specialize in turning
out patients every twenty days or so or when their insurance
coverage stops. At Treatment Referral we encourage our
clients to take their time and use this once in a lifetime
opportunity to take full advantage of the 12-step program
of recovery and do the whole program while you stay
with us.
Treatment Referral's unique strength is the option
of long-term sober living while attending treatment
and 12 step program meetings. We only treat a small
number of clients at a time to maximize personal attention
and help everyone focus on primary treatment. This personal
attention helps create a safe and secure atmosphere
as we guide our clients through an honest evaluation
of where the disease of alcoholism or addiction has
taken them.
Dealing with the consequences of using and drinking
without denial or blaming others is an important first
step in the recovery process. Step two requires faith
and hope that there is an answer to the drink and drug
problem and that it can be found at Treatment Referral.
Step three is a personal journey of finding a power
greater than yourself that can be relied upon for a
solution. The next steps include an in-depth personal
examination and new outlook on life and the role that
we have played in this world and how we would like that
to change. The steps continue and the process creates
a revitalized individual who is no longer running away
from reality and doesn't hesitate to take responsibility
for his or her actions. People that complete the 12-step
program describe the process has life altering and are
able to maintain clean and sober lifestyles for as long
as they choose. We highly recommend visiting recoverynowtv.com which is a portal dedicated to providing the quality videos, research and information on addiction recovery.
